NOTICE OF RACE

1.      The Racing Rules of Sailing and the sailing instructions will govern the race.

2.      Registration will be at 0800 hours on July 5, 2008 at the MMYC.

2.1       Registration will close at 0830 hours CST.

2.2       Racing Instructions available at the time of registration.

3.      Requirements to participate in the Third Coast Classic.

3.1       Each boat must be insured with third party liability insurance.

3.2       Each boat must have a PHRF rating or be penalized in requirement 3.5.

3.3       Boats with no PHRF rating will be penalized 6 seconds per nautical mile.

3.4       Boat owner and skipper are responsible for his/her crew.

4.      The entry fee is $20.00 for U.S. Sailing members and 25.00 for non-members.

5.      Skippers meeting held before each race at 0830 hours on July 5, 2008 at the MMYC.

6.      The first start will be at 1000 hours on July 5, 2008.

7.      The classes are spinnaker and non-spinnaker.

8.      The course will be given with race instructions.

9.      Social hour will be held Friday evening, July 4, 2008 with food and beverage.

 1.     The Racing Rules of Sailing and the Sailing Instructions will govern the race.

 2.     Registration will be at 1100 hours on July 12, 2008, at the MMYC.

2.1            Racing Instructions will be available at the time of registration.

 3.     The Crystal Cup Race is a non-spinnaker event.

 4.     The race is an all female event.

4.1            One male is allowed on board.

 5.     The entry fee is $20.00 for all entrants.

 6.     Skippers meeting will be held at 1115 hours on July 12, 2008, at the MMYC.

 7.     The race starts at 1300 hours, July 12, 2008.

 8.     The course will be as follows; start at NE corner of break wall north to south, Menominee Shoal Buoy to port, 0 degrees North to mark 2 taken to port, proceed to the finish line at the NE corner taking the orange mark on the water to port.

 9.     Social hour will be held on Friday evening, July 11, 2008.

1. RULES

1.1 The race will be governed by the rules defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, 2005-2008, and these race instructions.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY

2.1 The race is open to all boats racing spinnaker and non-spinnaker.

2.2 Based on the number of entrants the race committee may decide to run non-spinnaker only.

2.3 Each boat may enter by completing forms on Friday, August 15 at the MMYC from 6:00 to 9:00 PM or on Saturday, August 16, 2008 from 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM.

3. FEES

3.1 Required fee is $25.00 per boat.

4. SCHEDULE

4.1 Date of racing is August 16, 2008

4.2 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the non-spinnaker is 9:55 AM.

4.3 The scheduled time of the warning signal for the spinnaker is 10:05 AM.

5. MEASUREMENTS

5.1 Each boat shall produce a valid rating certificate for 2008.

5.2 Boats will no certificate shall be assessed 6 seconds per mile.

6. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

6.1 Sailing instructions available at time of registration.

7. COURSE

7.1 The course to be sailed will be as follows:

NE Corner of R2A to starboard, proceed to Green Island SW mark to starboard, proceed to Menekaunee Shoal buoy to starboard, proceed to R2A port, proceed 0 degree and take mark to port, proceed to the finish and take mark on the water to port.

8. SCORING

8.1 Scoring used for this race is time on distance.

9. PRIZES

9.1 Prizes will be awarded in November at the Annual Dinner.

                  3.1             Fee minus trophy fee to be donated to Animal Shelter in MMYC name.

 1. The race will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing 2005-2008 and the Racing Instructions.

 2. Registration will be from 0800 hours to 0845 hours on September 6, 2008 at the MMYC.

          2.1     Racing instructions will be available at the time of registration.

          2.2     A valid 2008 LMPHRF certificate must accompany entry form.

          2.3    Six seconds per mile will be assessed boats not having LMPHRF certificates.

          2.4     A 2008 certificate of insurance must accompany each entry form.

 3. The entry fee is $30.00 for US Sailing Members and $35.00 for non-members.

 4. This race is a JAM and Spinnaker event.

4.1     The course is 22.77 nm.

4.2     Course will have rounding’s at Chambers Island, Green Island and proceed to the Finish Line.

 5. Skippers meeting will be held at 0845 hours on September 6, 2008 at the MMYC.

 6. The first start will commence at 1000 hours on September 6, 2008.
